Taoism, Legalism and Confucianism
Legalism Taoism and Confucianism
A Brief Comparison of 3 of China's Religions
Hello and welcome to Russ's project on Legalism, Taoism, And Confucianism. In this project, these three religions will be compared, and I will state which of the three I agree with most.
Just to begin with, a little background information on China during the time period would be useful. During this period (Eastern Chou 771-256BCE) China was undergoing huge changes. New Crossbow Armed cavalry were overthrowing old nobility. The Chinese people were looking for a new philosophy to explain their everyday lives. Thus evolved a whole string of religions, all comparable to one another. The Eastern Chou outlook on life was nothing like Judaism or Islam which focused on an afterlife, but in Chinese philosophy the two spheres were mixed, Life was a mixture of the divine and reality.

During this period, hundreds of different schools emerged, but most of them are unknown to us today. Of these hundreds, only few survived, and of the few come the major Taoism, Legalism, and Confucianism.
